While it may feel like things are getting back to normal, COVID is still a concern in the Denver area.
In November, hospitalizations for COVID increased for the first time since June, according to the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment. 218 people were hospitalized at the beginning of the month and hospitalizations are increasing again at a rate of 7.9% from previous periods.
Altogether, nearly two-thirds of all hospitalizations were due to COVID symptoms. Statewide, there were more than 5,000 new cases recorded at the start of November, up more than 300 from the week before.
Officials warn there may be even more cases that go unreported because fewer people are getting tested. Yet, 10% of those tested report positive results.
