Urinary Tract Infection (UTI) Testing
FAQs
Urinary Tract Infection (UTI) testing is a lab test that can find infections in your bladder, kidneys, or urethra (the tube for urination).
Pricing for UTI Testing:
- UTI – $159
- UTI+ – $229
Symptoms of a UTI are pain or burning when you pee, frequent urination, cloudy or bloody pee, and belly pain.
Left untreated, a UTI in the bladder can spread to the kidneys, causing a kidney infection and potential organ failure.
UTIs are caused when bacteria in your intestines (such as E. coli) find their way into the urethra. This can happen during sex or when wiping back to front.
Your lab will ask you to enter a private room to urinate in a cup for testing. We use PCR testing (polymerase chain reaction) for all our in-house testing. This is a type of molecular testing that delivers an accuracy of greater than 99%. It can identify the specific strain of bacteria infecting the urinary tract to determine the most effective treatment.
