Shay Kerman
Chief Executive Officer
Shay Kerman serves as president and chief operating officer of Urgent Care Solutions, dba AFC Urgent Care, a healthcare company with over 100 employees in Denver, overseeing the strategic and operational activities. She is experienced in operating outpatient clinics with a demonstrated history of working in wide range of different industries.
Currently at Urgent Care Solutions, she is providing quality healthcare in communities and help people be better healthcare users. Before starting her healthcare company, she worked in other industries such as engineering and education. She has a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from Poly Technic university and master’s in business administration from Kempten university. She enjoys working on strategic, tactical, and operational growth of companies and has helped many companies and nonprofits that need consultation.
Shay is interested in the variations and commonalities of how some of today’s most complex healthcare challenges are experienced across the continuum of care. She believes healthcare is a human right. She works with various organizations in building and implementing clinical outreaches to some of the most remote villages in Africa. She has worked with project C.U.R.E and Maranatha’s medical team in building satellite clinics and offer outpatient services in Ghana and Zambia.
Shay has a strong background in leadership, operations, strategic planning, and performance improvement in a wide range of company environments and high paced growth-oriented organizations.

Kyle Petroff
Lab Manager
Kyle is from Marquette, Michigan, and is a graduate of Northern Michigan University. He has been living and working in Colorado since he obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in Molecular Biology in 2015. Kyle is passionate about health care and helping patients. In his spare time, he enjoys skiing, hiking with his dogs, trying new restaurants, and being with friends and family.
Khiani Kelly
Assistant Manager
Khiani is native to Denver, CO, and is a 2019 graduate from Lander University in South Carolina and earned a bachelor’s degree in biology. Her favorite science subject in college was developmental biology where she was able to research the effects of nicotine on a fetus using chicken eggs. She received a full-ride volleyball scholarship to Lander University and played as a captain all four years. In her free time, she loves traveling, cooking, and spending time with her new puppy Luna.
Mackenzie Kimber
Client Support Specialist
MacKenzie is a Colorado native who graduated from PIMA Medical Institute with her certification in medical assisting in 2016. She worked as a Research Lab Technician for 5 years after that and as an Antigen Lab Technician for 1 year before joining the StatLab team. She has always had a love for science and looks forward to growing into her role as a Lab assistant here at StatLab Diagnostics. In her free time, she loves hiking, photography, and spending time with her friends and family.
Elizabeth Crisafulli
Lead Lab Technician
Elizabeth recently moved to Denver from Baltimore, where she studied Biotechnology in college and worked on undergraduate research involving the human microbiome’s impact on fighting illness and cancers. Here in Denver, she continues to follow her passion for medical lab work and hopes to pursue further education focusing on infectious disease. In her time off, Elle finds herself exploring the mountains and historic towns of Colorado, playing video games on the computer she built, and providing support to others who also suffer from genetic connective tissues disorders. Her dream is to visit every National Park in the U.S. (hopefully Canada, too)!
Sydney Vaden
Lab Technician III
Sydney has a BS in Biology from the University of Florida. During her studies, she was a research assistant investigating horticultural pathology with citrus genetics and breeding. Since her move to Colorado, she has been expanding her clinical experience to further her education in the medical field. In her free time, Sydney loves tending to her jungle of plants, baking sweets for dessert, and spending time with her hound in the mountains.
Samuel Swisher
Lab Technician III
Sam graduated from the University of Colorado at Boulder in 2019 with a degree in Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology (MCDB) and a minor in Business. He worked as a Research Assistant for several years in his home state of Texas doing cancer research involving CRISPR at the University of Texas at MD Anderson. Sam is thrilled to be part of the StatLab Team and to continue learning more about the healthcare and diagnostic field. When he’s not in the lab Sam can be found snowboarding at Winter Park, hunting on his parents’ cattle ranch in Texas, and playing Frisbee with his friends.
Eve Guess
Lab Technician II
Eve is a Colorado native and graduated from the University of Colorado Denver. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology in 2021. While in college she pursued her passion for lab work as a research assistant. She is excited to continue working as an assistant to further develop her research and management skills. She enjoys skiing, baking, and spending time with her chiwawa and golden doodle!
Kyle Rudy
Lab Technician II
Rudy graduated from the University of Colorado at the Colorado Springs campus in the Spring of 2021 with a BS in Biology. Rudy found his love for biology in a college microbiology class which taught him the importance of microbes and how they are a necessity to life and can be the reason why a life ends. Rudy researched many different biology topics during college but noted that his favorite topics was how untreated Chlamydia doubles as a risk for ovarian cancer due to it’s potential in causing pelvic inflammatory disease in women, which if also intreated can eventually lead to ovarian cancer. When Rudy is not in the lab, he can be found representing his favorite South Florida teams, spending time with his Australian Shepard/Doberman mix Kahlua and mastering his home improvement skills.
