We are currently looking for:
Lab Assistant/Courier
Lab/Assistant Couriers must be detail-oriented, portray professionalism in all duty requests, and have excellent written and verbal communication skills. Prior laboratory experience and science-related degrees are preferred, and a good driving record is a must.
Responsibilities may include:
- Delivering lab supplies as requested.
- Picking up and transporting biohazardous lab specimens from multiple locations.
- Handling confidential HIPPA information in a perfectly confidential manner.
- Keeping a detailed log of pickups and drop-offs and signing off to ensure all tasks are complete.
- Following preset routes for deliveries and pickups.
- Communicating issues that could cause a delay during transport or pickup.
- Utilizing PPE as necessary to prevent unnecessary exposure to infectious materials.
- Performing other assigned duties when needed.
Lab Assistant
Lab Assistants must have experience in a laboratory setting and with sorting specimen samples. Professional should be detail-oriented, purposeful in action, and have excellent skills in data entry. BS in a science-related subject such as Biology preferred, but not required with extensive lab experience.
Responsibilities may include:
- Delivering lab supplies as requested.
- Performing an array of laboratory functions to assist the professional staff and assist with everyday production.
- Receiving and sorting lab specimens.
- Preparing specimens for testing, such as preparing slides or adding specimens to sample containers.
- Performing routine maintenance on lab equipment.
- Handling specimen storage and retrieval.
- Adding specimens to testing instruments.
- Sanitizing workstations and disposing of biohazardous waste.
- Performing both QA and QC tasks as requested.
Lab Technician
OBJECTIVE
Accession Samples, Perform testing, releasing results, other laboratory tasks.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Accept the results of calibrators and quality controls
- Start an instrument that was not previously running to test patient samples.
- Perform an activity that alters the original matrix, such as mixing in another substance.
- Perform any activity (other than waived) that directly generates a patient result.
- Release results from an LIS or EHR system for the doctor or caregiver to make medical decisions.
- Report critical (life-threatening) results.
- Performs all lab assistant responsibilities.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Experience with sample sorting
• Experience with PCR & Microbiology laboratory setting min. of 1 year
• Detail Oriented
• Excellent Data Entry Skills
• BS in Biology or other Science related field
